Charm of Protection

Travel Insurance

Because all Camp payments are non-refundable, we strongly recommend that each camper protects their trip with travel insurance.

Travel insurance is coverage designed to protect against risks and financial losses that could happen while traveling. The risks range from minor inconveniences such as missed airline connections and delayed luggage all the way to more serious issues including injuries or major illness.

Each camper will have unique policy needs based on the total cost of their ticket and travel costs (such as flights) and their risk tolerance to common things such as (including but not limited to):

  • Age and health history
  • Illness or injury (of you or family member)
  • Covid specific coverage
  • Job Loss
  • Inclement weather/natural disaster
  • Your state/country of residence

Most standard travel insurance policies reimburse 100% of your covered trip costs if you cancel for a common reason such as the things listed above. Most states allow for an add-on coverage called Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) coverage. This additional coverage reimburses a portion of your covered trip cost (commonly 50-75%) if you cancel for any other reason not covered in the standard policy.

You may already have travel insurance benefits through a credit card or your insurance carrier, call them directly to check.

Another simple way to find a travel specific policy is to use a comparison site to enter your trip details and choose a policy that best protects your personal priorities.

Below are two leading comparison sites that are user friendly and offer unbiased comparisons and purchase of policies from top rated travel insurance companies.*
