COVID-19 Info

Updated 4/25:

To join Camp, you must:

  • Be fully vaccinated – Boosters are strongly encouraged, but not required.
  • Take a PCR nasal swab test before arrival and receive results no more than 96 hours in advance of Camp. That means you can take the test outside the 96 hour window (you can take the test Friday, May 6, for instance), but you must receive the results between 5/7 and 5/11.
  • Test negative on a rapid nasal swab test on 5/11 before campers arrive at Camp. Team NF will facilitate this.

To get a head start on your Wednesday rapid test by Viral Solutions, please fill out this consent form. You’ll need to do this on site if you don’t do it ahead of time.

You can bring your physical vaccine card OR a digital record or very clear photo of your vaccine card with all vaccine dates.

As long as the Viral Solutions team can clearly read the vaccine information and dates, they will accept physical or digital proof.

In the US, every state offers free PCR tests. You can use this resource to look up available locations.

CVS and Walgreens are two pharmacy options with lots of free testing appointments available.

If you happen to live in Georgia, our camp partners also recommend Viral Solutions as they provide free testing with very quick result times.

A qualifying PCR test is a molecular, lab-run test as opposed to an antigen test, which only identifies whether you have corona-style virus in your system or not, not whether you have active COVID-19 or not.

A Rapid PCR lab test is acceptable, that just means they give you the results back faster, but a rapid antigen is not a lab test. Nasopharyngeal or saliva style lab tests would both be fine.

Before anyone is allowed on site at Camp, you must take a rapid test that returns negative results in addition to the pre-event PCR requirement.

For staff arriving early (before 5/11), we will self-administer rapid tests on site (for drivers) and before getting on the shuttle (for those flying into Atlanta).

IF YOU TEST POSITIVE on the rapid, we will ask that you take another PCR test at a local pharmacy or testing site, but you must be quarantined until your results are returned.

If those PCR results come back positive, you will not be permitted on site and we can help arrange travel home.

On the first day of Camp, 5/11, all staff on site will be rapid tested once more by our testing partner, Viral Solutions, before check in begins.

If your rapid comes back positive, Viral Solutions will have PCRs on hand to use for testing and you will remain quarantined until your results are returned.

Travel Info

If you’re arriving early, we secured a hotel room block at the Sonesta Atlanta Airport South.

There is a free shuttle from the airport that you should use when your flight arrives.

NF Team member Sarah is the travel superstar; if you have questions about your reservation date(s), touch base with her on Slack or via [email protected]

If you are arriving on-or-before 5/9, your shuttle will head to Camp from the Sonesta Airport South on Monday, 5/9 around 12-1pm. Meet the team at the hotel using the free shuttle from the airport.

If you arriving on 5/9 or 5/10 to head to Camp on 5/10, your shuttle will leave from the airport! Meet in the atrium of the Atlanta airport outside security (near the IHOP) and a point person will be there to lead you to your shuttle, which will leave around 2pm.

Ramah Darom’s address is 70 Darom Lane, Clayton, GA 30525.

Event Details

This doc is beefy, but paints a clear picture by day of the event we’re trying to build. Highly recommend that all staff and support team members read this before Camp!

Dressing up on theme nights is encouraged by not required! Note that support staff will have at least one evening shift during Camp where you’ll help facilitate the activities, serve alcohol, and be available for camper needs.

Thursday, May 12: Heroes and Villains Night

If we’re gonna spend the weekend learning superhero skills, we may as well dress the part!

From DC to Marvel to Super Mario to Quail Man – heroes and villains are part of all our favorite stories. Which one inspires you?

If you’re part of NF Journey – bonus points if you dress up as your crazy avatar (or one of the Bosses you’ve defeated…like Miss Direction or the Slumberjack)!

Friday, May 13: Zombie Night

Listen, we’re gonna be at Camp for Friday the 13th so we HAD to do something a little spooky…and Jason was a little too on the nose for a night at camp.

Channel your inner walker from Walking Dead with creepy special effects makeup or get creative with a zombie version of  your favorite pop culture character (Zombie Waldo? Zombie Luke Skywalker? Zombie Hero from the night before? Let’s get weird!).

We’ll play scary movies (that you can hide from if you don’t want to watch), group games, and don’t worry, there will be plenty of undeadlifts and brains-smores to go around.

Saturday, May 14: Glow Party!

It’s time to get your glow on and shine like the beautiful heroes you are!

A Camp classic makes its return for our final night together. Deck yourself out in neon, UV paint, glow sticks, and more, as we celebrate our epic time together at Camp, dance the night away, and glow brighter than a newborn phoenix.

While these events are camper-focused, you are also welcome to participate in each of these if you aren’t scheduled to work at an overlapping time!

5k Run/Walk

Let’s get Friday the 13th started off on the right foot! Join your fellow campers and members of Team NF for a morning run/walk (or zombie crawl) around the campground! This is an awesome chance to push yourself and start the day with a huge win; we don’t care about your finishing time, just that you finish!

If you’re looking for some training tips ahead of the run/walk, we have you covered! Check out the 5k Adventure in the NF Journey app!

And if you need some awesome swag to wear for your run, we’ve got your back there too.

Powerlifting Meet

Always a Camp highlight, our informal Powerlifting Meet will give you a chance to show your strength and try something new in a supportive environment! In this meet, you’ll get 3 chances at finding your best bench press, squat, and deadlift alongside your fellow warriors.

We’ll lift in small groups (similar to a traditional flight), and each group will get 30 minutes per lift to find their 1 rep max. No singlet or special clothing required, so come as you are!. If you’re interested in further details, make sure you sign up to learn more!

We have some incredibly talented and passionate Rebels in our community, and we asked a couple of them to share their skills at Camp with their fellow campers! Here are the Camper Led Sessions we have to look forward to:

Train to Age with Joni

We all age!  What do you really know about the process of aging? Long-time camper Joni transformed her life after learning to lift weights in her mid-50s. Now, as a certified personal trainer and author on the subject, Joni helps others feel strong and capable as they get older. Join her to learn how you can be lifting heavy things and dancing the night away regardless of age. And don’t kid yourself, time really does fly!

Fanfic 101 : Breaking Into The Fandom to Write Your Heart Out with Jordan

Led by camper Jordan, Fanfiction 101 will help you break into the fandom of your dreams, create and nurture your ships, and find like minded readers and writers alike. With nearly 20 years of fanfic writing experience, Jordan will guide you on the fundamentals – like posting to A03 (the most popular place on the internet to share your fics) and how to tag your work – and also push your imagination – in creating and introducing original characters (OCs), as well as creating alternate realities and universes. This is an open discussion of fandom and how to write fanfic in the fandom of your choosing!

Pickleball with Peter

Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports on the planet, and the best news is that anyone can play it! In this class, camper Peter will guide you through the rules of the game, how to play, and then enjoy some friendly games of pickleball. In fact, Peter loves the sport so much that he earned the nickname Pickleball Pete! No experience required. All skill levels welcome!

Improv with Vivek

Ever feel awkward in social situations or anxious about what to say in a conversation? Ever wished you could be quicker on your feet or let down your guard? If you said “yes .. and ” to any of these, this improv class is exactly the one for you! Camper Vivek has been practicing and performing improv comedy for the last 8 years and will lead you through fun beginner games and exercises to level up your social skills in a safe setting alongside supportive campers. You’ll feel more relaxed and confident, make new friends and who knows, maybe your newfound wit and charm will rival James Bond after his martini (shaken).

DO NOT SHARE THIS WITH CAMPERS, but this is our Google Doc with the full schedule.

You can also view a schedule by day below. We recommend everyone downloads our schedule app to view the schedule while on site!

We are using an app called Whova for all camper facing scheduling and event info.

Downloading it is optional, but it’s what everyone on site will use to view the daily schedule and event information.

From your mobile device, click here to download the Whova app.

Once you download the app, set up an account using your email address and you should be taken straight to the Camp NF event!

For those curious, check out the full menu here

Note that the meals begin Monday evening for those arriving early. Camp begins on Wednesday.

You are welcome to bring snacks to supplement, but note that all snacks must be Kosher since the campground is a Kosher facility.

We’ll have a merchandise shop set up on site that’ll have Camp items, NF swag, items from Instructors, and drink tickets for sale.

Credit cards or Apple Pay are preferred methods of payment at the shop.

The campground also has misc. items like sports equipment/cones, lawn games, gym mats, etc.
